About the 5 Points Parish
Welcome to the 5 Points Parish
A vibrant community of faith that spans five unique United Methodist Churches. United in our mission and shared leadership, we embody the spirit of collaboration and fellowship, bringing together a rich tapestry of traditions, histories, and shared worship.
Our Journey Together
The journey of our cooperative parish began in 2017, with the joining of Melmore and St. Paul's United Methodist Churches under the leadership of Pastor Amy and Barb Letterly. This initial partnership, founded on mutual support and shared pastoral leadership, marked the beginning of our unified path. As our collaboration grew, so did our parish. In 2019, Republic Trinity UMC joined the fold, followed by the inclusion of Sycamore and Union-Salem UMCs in 2021, transforming us into a full-time ministry. Though Union-Salem UMC later chose a different path, Faith UMC became part of our family in 2023, completing the 5 Points Parish as it stands today.
What is a 5 Points Parish?
A 5 Points Parish represents more than just a grouping of churches; it's a testament to our shared vision of a united community of faith. By pooling our resources, talents, and passions, we ensure that each congregation thrives, benefiting from collective support while retaining its unique identity and heritage. This model allows us to offer diverse worship experiences, extensive community outreach, and enriching programs across our churches, all under the guidance of our dedicated pastors.
Our Churches and Their History
Within the 5 Points Parish, our strength lies in the diversity and rich history of our five individual churches. Each congregation’s unique story contributes to the depth and vibrancy of our parish, embodying a unity that respects and cherishes our varied pasts.
