June 2024 Letter

Can you believe that it is June already? I, for one, cannot. It seems like this year has zipped right past. Each day has seemingly blended into the next and if it weren’t so warm out, it would be very hard to believe that it is almost (officially) summertime.

Summertime: time for baseball games, time for picnics, time for lemonade, and time for VBS! Yes, that’s right VBS time is upon us: that delightfully wonderful time of fun games, delicious snacks, entertaining stories, wacky science experiments, creative crafts, and songs. Songs that you just can’t stop singing for weeks and weeks afterwards.

Although sometimes I do wish that I could get one of catchy tunes out of my head, I am grateful that they get stuck there because I know that if I can’t get them out of my head (and I still remember VBS songs from the 1970s), then neither can the kids. And if they can’t forget those songs, that means that they will remember what they learn at Vacation Bible School.

So, bring your kids, or your grandkids, or your great-grandkids, or your neighbors’ kids to VBS this summer and give them a summer to remember. Register them to come in June (17th to the 21st from 9:00 am to noon) or July (14th-18th from 6:00 pm-8:30 pm) OR register them to come to both!

Just register them! Because… we will sing songs that they will never forget (and you probably won’t be able to either before the week is over). And, we will make cool crafts that they will want to share with you. And, we will eat delicious snacks and participate in fun science experiments and play awesome games. But most importantly, we will tell stories about Jesus that they will remember for a lifetime!
